Attraction of a can with a balloon
When we friction two elements such as the balloon with a wool cloth, the electrons of one element pass to the other, so that one element is left with more electrons and another with fewer electrons. By bringing the balloon closer to a metal can it is attracted by the negative charges of the balloon. This phenomenon is known as "static electricity".
Materials: An empty aluminum soda can, a balloon and a wool cloth. Procedure: We place an empty can on a table or on the floor. Then we inflate a balloon and rub it several times with a wool cloth or simply on our dry hair. Finally we bring the balloon closer to the can that we have placed on the table and observe that it begins to move towards the balloon. We can get the can to make a small tour of the table or the floor
